Act effectively for decent working conditions, against forced labour and against child labour

Remember…on the 24th of April 2013, a building housing various textile companies collapsed in Dhaka (Bangladesh) killing 1127 of the employees.
These workers were at the end of the subcontracted supply chains of companies in Europe and the USA.

The requirements expressed by either side of the subcontracted supply chain are legitimate.

  • The company must pay its employees, invest, and provide good quality products at the cheapest price to its consumers.
  • The worker on the other side of the world must have access to health and security, a decent salary, and to all human rights recognised by international laws.
  • Between each extremity, the subcontracted supply chain can be long. The longer the chain, the higher the risk of exploitation, forced labour and child labour.

Reconcile the legitimate expectations of the two extremes of the chain of subcontracting, the company principal and the worker side of the world, it is the mission of Human Resources Without Borders.
